Dayton Dia de Muertos Parade and Celebration
The Dayton parade and celebration returns this year, and will include all of these traditional Mexican traditions with some unique Gem City twists. This year, all activities will be outdoors. Sunday, October 24th, pre-parade events are from 12-2 at Fifth and Jefferson in Downtown Dayton. The parade starts at 2pm, and proceeds east through the Oregon District, arriving at the Missing Peace Art Space (234 S. Dutoit St.) at 3 pm. Celebration continues with traditional music, dancing, food vendors, and a representation of a Mexican cemetery decorated for Dia de Muertos. Community offrendas (altars) will also be there, and participants are encouraged to bring photos and memories of their loved ones to share.
