Level I Shoden Usui Reiki Class
Reiki is a Japanese meditative practice of self-improvement. Use it to feel more connected to yourself and the world around you, or to handle stress better. There are a million reasons to practice this system, but the main one is to develop a life with less worry and anger, and more compassion, honesty and gratitude. Anyone can learn to do this.
Shoden is a Japanese word meaning "first teachings". The class will focus on a number of different areas, including what is Reiki, the different levels, how the attunement process works, how reiki works, and what it can be used for.
We will cover Gassho meditation, Kenyoku, and learn meditation and breathing techniques to do at home, so that you will be comfortable with the energy. By the end of the class, you will be attuned to Level 1 Reiki, and will be able to use the energy to heal both yourself and others.
All classes are taught from the Japanese perspective where the initiation process, course information and techniques taught stem directly from Japan. Learn the traditional teachings of Reiki, as it was originally taught in Japan. Experience its beautiful simplicity, and its focus on personal and spiritual healing and growth.
The system of Reiki, when taught from the traditional perspective, gives the student the opportunity to get more joy out of life. It helps you develop mental focus that can help deal with anxiety and depression. It helps you live a life with less worry and anger, and more gratitude, compassion and honesty.
This class begins January 12th, and is held for 4 weeks - each Thursday evening, from 6:00PM-8:30PM.
Taught by Kim McCarthy, Shinpiden Reiki Practitioner/Teacher.
