In this all-day workshop, students learn the process of encaustic painting. Encaustic uses beeswax and pigments on wood board to create beautiful layered works. Students learn the basics as they create a piece from beginning to end, using techniques such as graphite transfers, collage, and etching. Materials are provided, but students are encouraged to bring in additional collage materials and supplies as desired. A full list of useful art materials will be available at registration. This class is suitable for beginners, but those with prior experience are welcome! Class meets Sat. Oct. 13, 9 am to 5 pm. $78/resident; $88/non-resident.
